Job Title: Caregivers
Job Purpose:
- To implement care plans by directly providing practical, physical, social and emotional care in service users own homes.
- To create a supportive atmosphere in which service users can achieve maximum independence.
- To positively promote Cantra Care Limited Services.
- To adhere to all regulatory and statutory obligations and Cantra Care Limited Services’ policies and procedures, ensuring a good reputation at all times.
- To actively support other Care Workers.
Job Hours:
- Flexible, depending on the needs of the business
- 16 – 40 hours per week
Job Responsibilities:
The specific requirements of each assignment will vary and these will be discussed with you before you accept the assignment. As a carer, you must be sensitive and responsive to the race, culture, religion, age, disability, gender and sexuality of the service user who is receiving care and their representatives. You will provide care according to the service users specific diagnosis and needs.Your duties will include:
General- Provide personal care and support to service users with specific needs
- Understand the service that Cantra Care provides to its service users
- Follow and carry out the tasks provided in the service users care plans
- Bring forth details that you have discovered about your service users so that we can update care plans.
- Provide general support to the service user as part of a caring team.
- Assist service users with getting up/going to bed
- Assist service users with getting dressed and undressed
- Assist service users to maintain personal hygiene (washing/bathing/showering)
- Assisting with mouth care
- Using bath aids
- Managing incontinence
- Emptying commodes
- Skin and hair care
- Assist service users with administering medication (if needed).
- Pressure area care
- Catheter care
- Emptying of colostomy bag
- Provide service users with food and drinks (be sure to keep in mind the service users specific tastes, nutritional needs, and cultural requirements).
- Carry out domestic duties (all details of domestic duties will be provided in the Clients care plan).
- Making/changing bedding
- Laundry/ironing
- Washing up dishes
- Cleaning the toilet/bathroom
- Shopping for groceries
- Assisting with Maintaining Social Contact
- Assisting in Making Appointments
- Assisting with Attending Clubs / Day Care Centres
Knowledge and Expertise
Desirable- General care experience
- Ideally some experience in caring for clients in their own home
- Ideally NVQ Care Level 2 or 3
- Training relevant to the post
- Caring personality
- Own car
- Ability to travel to clients
- An enhanced DBS disclosure and Barring Service.
- A full UK driver’s license

Job Purpose:

Job Hours:
- 24 Hour care, hours/working times to be discussed as it is individual to each service user.
